The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to a staggering $740 million for the upcoming draw on September 6 in the United States, following Tuesday's draw which yielded no winner.

The accumulated jackpot now ranks as the 13th largest in the history of this American lottery. Should someone win on Friday, they can choose between annual payments over 29 years or a one-time lump sum payment of $366.3 million.
