A young Cuban woman is seeking community support to locate her mother, who has been missing since the beginning of last week in Matanzas. Nieves Elers, originally from Santiago de Cuba and residing in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood of the Matanzas capital, has been unaccounted for over the past five days, according to her daughter Yurdania Rodríguez Elers, who alerted Facebook groups with photos of the elderly woman.

In a post last Friday, Rodríguez stated that her mother had been missing for four days. "I am desperate," the young woman expressed.

Additionally, she requested that anyone who sees the lady or has information about her contact her at the number 58022856.

Another shared post warns that Nieves disappeared on Wednesday, August 28, and "needs to take her medication," but it does not specify what illnesses she suffers from. Other critical details, such as where she was last seen, what clothing she was wearing, and whether a police report has been filed, are also missing.

As of the writing of this note, there has been no update on whether the woman has been found.

Miriam Rodríguez Arias, a 57-year-old woman who disappeared last week in Guanabo, Havana, was also located alive.
