The clinical condition of Dionel Figueroa Calunga, a worker from the Cienfuegos cement factory who has been in critical condition since the accident last Tuesday, has worsened slightly in the past few hours due to respiratory difficulties.

The medical report released this Thursday by the Perlavisión telecenter detailed that the 52-year-old patient, who has burns on 75 percent of his body, experienced respiratory issues last night. This necessitated the administration of oxygen and "monitoring with 95 percent saturation."

The official source, citing the report from Dr. Pavel Noa, the provincial health director, did not provide further details on the case.

Regarding the other three hospitalized patients: Francisco Díaz Urquiza, Hermes Rojas Campos, and Carlos Aguilar Sabina, the same source indicated that their conditions remain "unchanged."

All four patients are being treated in the Caumatology department of the Dr. Gustavo Aldereguia Lima General University Hospital in Cienfuegos. They are receiving a steady supply of medications and creams to ensure the continuity of medical care.

Alaín del Sol and Dr. Geisi Fernández Gómez, a specialist in plastic surgery and caumatology, stated, "The reports remain consistent, all are hemodynamically stable, with no hypovolemic shock, maintained diuresis, and afebrile. They are in the process of healing," according to an update posted on Facebook by Armando Carranza Valladares, the first secretary of the PCC in Cienfuegos, on Wednesday morning.

In addition to the five injured, of whom Alexei Aguilar Valdés, 53, was discharged yesterday, the incident resulted in one fatality. The deceased, identified as Raimundo Narciso Sarría Lavín, 61, was a worker at the Engineering Construction Company No. 6 (Ecoing-6). His funeral took place on Wednesday.

Ernesto Gálvez, the production director of the Cienfuegos cement factory, clarified that the accident occurred following the collapse of a hopper, which caused a spill of very hot material that led to severe burns in the injured workers.
