One of the coaches from the Santa Clara baseball team, which represented Cuba in the Little League World Series (LLWS) in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, has decided to remain in the United States. Carlos César Martínez stayed with the team until last Saturday, when he reportedly left the Cuban delegation.

According to the specialized portal Pelota Cubana, the young coach has a brother in the United States and likely reunited with him. The Santa Clara Bombarderos baseball team returned to Villa Clara’s capital on Monday, where authorities called on the public for a large welcome parade through the city's main streets.

The other two coaches, Everaldo Pedroso and Andy Zamora, returned home with the children. The Cuban little leaguers exited the Little League World Series on Tuesday, August 20, after a surprising loss to the team from Matamoros, Mexico.
