Following an explosion on Tuesday afternoon at the Carlos Marx Cement Factory in Cienfuegos, Cuban authorities reported one person dead, five injured, and three still trapped. Official sources revealed that among the injured, admitted to Gustavo Aldereguía Lima Provincial Hospital, one is in critical condition, one very serious, one serious, and two less severe.

All injured individuals have been identified as:

Dionel Figueroa Calunga, 52 years old, with 70% burns, reported as critically extreme. Resident of La Loma, Central Nuclear.

Hermes Rojas Campos, 52 years old, with 24% burns, reported as serious. Pastorita, Cienfuegos.

Carlos Aguilar Sabina, 33 years old, with 12% burns, reported as less serious. Batey Guabairos, Cienfuegos.

Alexei Aguilar Valdes, 53 years old, with 5% burns, reported as less serious. Batey Guabairos, Cienfuegos.

Authorities also confirmed one fatality, though no details about the deceased have been provided.

"The injured and their families are being attended to at our Provincial Hospital," wrote Armando Carranza Valladares, secretary of the Communist Party in Cienfuegos, on his Facebook profile.

There has been no additional information regarding the three workers trapped in the facility. Independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada mentioned that "the search continues because sometimes people from the street enter for illicit business, and there are fears they might have been trapped."
