Three children, aged 15, 13, and 9, were left orphaned after their parents died in an incident that authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning at a residence located in the 12000 block of West Randall Park Drive in Westview.

Authorities reported a heated argument between the woman, identified as Raiza Cajuso, 39, and the man, Marcos Antonio González, 40, before he shot her and then took his own life, according to Telemundo 51.

It was the eldest daughter who contacted the police to report the event, stated Miami-Dade Police Detective Andre Martin.

The incident is under investigation, and authorities have confirmed that the two individuals involved were not living together at the time of the event.

On Saturday morning, "officers were dispatched to the incident location in reference to a report of a person injured. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male and an adult female suffering from one or more gunshot wounds," stated Miami-Dade Police.

Both individuals were declared dead at the scene.
