The young Cuban woman, Kiara González, who had been reported missing by her family, has been found alive and well after being mistakenly identified as the victim of a murder that occurred this week in Old Havana.

Her cousin, Alfredo Rodríguez Ramírez, shared the good news on his Facebook profile, without providing any further details. "She has been found alive and well. Thank you all for your support and concern. Sharing her disappearance was very helpful," he expressed.

On Saturday, Alfredo had reported his cousin's absence from her home in a post where he clarified that the body found on Friday in a garbage bin in Old Havana was not hers, as had been erroneously reported online. "But she is missing. The report has been filed, but if anyone sees her, please call me at 54324610," he emphasized at the time.

This week, there were two disappearances of young women in Old Havana: Lianet Núñez Pérez, 20, a resident of the Jesús María neighborhood, last seen on the night of Thursday, August 22, and Kiara González, 23, a mother of two children. On Friday, the presumably dismembered body of a woman was found in a garbage bin located on Havana Street between Luz and Acosta, in the same municipality.

A video released by the independent portal CubaNet showed an ambulance, as well as police officers and other members of the Ministry of the Interior at the scene. According to the information, local residents stated that the victim had been dismembered and that her arms were missing.

Initially, it was reported that the victim of this horrific crime was Kiara, but that information was disproved when it was confirmed that the deceased was Lianet Núñez Pérez. Several people had reported Kiara's disappearance on Facebook and echoed the confusion between the two young women.

Apparently, the mistake arose because both incidents occurred in Old Havana.
