A fugitive who escaped from one of the units of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is being sought by the institution and the Miami-Dade Police.
The prisoner, whose details have not been disclosed, was held at the Krome Detention Center in the western part of the county. Authorities have established a search perimeter near Krome Avenue and Southwest Eighth Street, according to Local 10 News.
The detainee reportedly escaped shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, stated ICE spokesman Néstor Yglesias.
As of Thursday, Pinecrest Glades Academy, located at Southwest 8th Street and 152nd Avenue, near the search area, was partially closed.
