A 50-year-old Cuban woman faces charges of attempted second-degree murder after stabbing an elderly man she had been living with for over five years. While the victim's life is not in danger, he has been left severely traumatized by the incident, as reported by Telemundo 51.

The incident occurred on Sunday around 9:50 p.m. (local time) at a property located at SW 103rd Avenue and 20th Street in Westchester, Miami-Dade County. The assailant, identified as Niurka Barreto Herrera, attacked the victim multiple times in the left thigh. During the violent altercation, the elderly man fell to the ground and was also struck with the handle of the knife.
