European Parliament member and journalist Hermann Tertsch has issued a fervent call for the overthrow of Cuba's communist regime, following the resolution of the current conflict in Venezuela over the alleged electoral fraud by Nicolás Maduro's government.

In a series of posts on the social media platform X, Tertsch emphasized the urgent need to end what he describes as a "monstrous, murderous dictatorship" that has oppressed Cuba for over six decades.

His statements come at a time when the international community is reconsidering its stance on the Cuban government, due to its connection with the electoral fraud in Venezuela this past Sunday, which has also sparked protests across the country and resulted in over 1,200 detained demonstrators.

Tertsch believes that the fall of the Cuban regime cannot be postponed for the long or medium term. "First and foremost because Cubans have as much right to exercise popular sovereignty as Venezuelans do," he asserted.

In his view, the liberation of Cuba should go hand in hand with the fall of Nicolás Maduro's government in Venezuela, as both regimes are intrinsically linked.

The European Parliament member also harshly criticized Josep Borrell, whom he labeled as the "chief lobbyist for Cuba's dictatorship in the European Union."

He warned that with the end of Borrell's term, there is an opportunity for Europe to adopt a firmer and more dignified policy against the Cuban regime.

"A policy of dignity and firmness can begin to take shape in Europe so that the criminals at the top of the Cuban hierarchy know their time is up," Tertsch stated.

Tertsch highlighted that the situation would become even more favorable with a potential re-election of Donald Trump in the United States, as he believes Trump is more aware of the importance of Latin America for U.S. security and interests.

In his posts, Tertsch lamented that after the failure of the Bay of Pigs invasion, Western democracies did not take decisive action against the Cuban dictatorship, resulting in decades of suffering for the Cuban people.

"The world has paid dearly for not ending this cesspool managed by murderers and corrupt officials," he declared.

Finally, he called on the Cuban people to rise up, assuring them that they will have external support and that the communist regime will face relentless pressure on all fronts.
