Current U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has garnered significant support for her nomination by the Democratic Party in the upcoming November presidential election, particularly building a substantial base of delegates in the state of Florida.

Harris, who received the endorsement of President Joe Biden this past Sunday after he withdrew from the race, has started her campaign on a strong note with party leaders rallying behind her. Over a thousand delegates informed the Associated Press (AP) or publicly announced their intention to support Harris in the internal contest to select the opponent for Republican Donald Trump in the presidential race. The majority of these Democratic delegates expressing their support for the first female Vice President of the United States are from Florida (210), Pennsylvania (159), North Carolina (116), Maryland (95), Wisconsin (76), Tennessee (63), South Carolina (55), Kentucky (52), Louisiana (47), New York (41), Minnesota (36), Ohio (35), Nebraska (29), Massachusetts (27), New Hampshire (25), and Georgia (25), according to a report by Local 10 News.

Florida Democrats Rally Behind Kamala Harris

This Monday, Florida Democrats held a virtual press conference to express their support for Harris in the presidential race. The meeting opened with a note of gratitude to President Joe Biden, whom they described as brave and compassionate for prioritizing the country.

"I am extremely excited to support Vice President Harris, one of the most successful, experienced, and incredibly ethical candidates we have ever nominated for this great office," said Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz. State Representative Fentrice Driskell assured that Kamala "is ready for the battle" and listed several virtues of the current Vice President.

"The Republicans' dream is to sit back and watch us fight among ourselves and create chaos. But we don’t have to show them chaos," said State Senator Shevrin Jones. "We can show them unity and strength."
