Friday, July 19, 2024 by Daniel Vasquez

The Cuban exile community has once again showcased its solidarity by assisting a single mother who lost everything in a recent fire. Cuban influencer Yolanda Capote Uz, known on Instagram for her profile Analogías de Lola, shared a video highlighting the collection of donations in Miami.

At 11:30 PM, a rented van arrived at the house where a neighbor is temporarily housing Suanny and her daughter. There, they delivered all the items that various families had sent. The donations included furniture, lamps, clothes, food, and appliances. All the items are in good condition, allowing the affected family to rebuild their lives as soon as possible.

The young mother expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much. Look at everything I have now! The only thing I need is a place to live." Suanny is looking for a studio or a one-bedroom apartment, needing rent in Miami between $1,300 and $1,600 per month to live with her five-year-old daughter.

The fire occurred last week. Influencer Dairon Cano brought this case to public attention and initiated the donation campaign for Suanny and her daughter. The Cuban woman was living in a rental and suffered a kitchen fire that spread throughout the apartment. Mother and daughter escaped unharmed but lost all their belongings and are alone in the United States.

This Monday, a neighbor took them in, but the living space is small and the accommodation is temporary. They urgently need to find affordable housing in Miami before the school year starts in August.
