The death of a 16-year-old Cuban teenager, who allegedly drowned, has stirred deep sorrow on social media, with many close to the young boy and his family expressing profound grief over the tragedy.

So far, limited information is available regarding the incident. The teenager, identified as Eblys Malagón Díaz, hailed from Villa Clara. The independent outlet Cubanos por el Mundo reported, citing their own sources, that the boy drowned in a reservoir during a camping trip.

"Nearly 24 hours after receiving the heartbreaking news of your death, it still feels unreal. You didn't deserve to die. You were just a child, only 16 years old, a brilliant child in every sense of the word. I can't fathom what God was so busy with when He let go of your hand and allowed you to die," wrote Yerisley Ríos Guevara from the United States, who expressed her sorrow over the loss.

"I keep wondering what will become of your family's life, especially your parents, without you, when you meant everything to them," added Ríos Guevara in a poignant post that has been shared multiple times, generating numerous messages of pain and condolences.

"How I wish I could be with you right now! I just want to say, stay strong to move forward because your son will be in the best place in heaven. Rest in peace, Eblys Malagón, you'll be another star," concluded Ríos Guevara.

Family and friends have turned to social media to bid farewell to the young boy. In many comments, the deceased teenager has been described as a "wonderful" and "exceptional" child.

As of the latest update, no further details are available about the unfortunate incident, which is not an isolated case in recent months. In mid-May, two young individuals drowned at Sardinero Beach in Santiago de Cuba when a group of nine people, including three minors, were swimming in that dangerous stretch of coast, where swimming is officially prohibited.

The first victim was identified as Rachel Mora Torres, a 20-year-old resident of Mangos de Baraguá, confirmed on social media by Aris Arias Batalla, the provincial head of Aquatic Safety and Rescue Operations of the Red Cross.

The other victim was Yasel Alberto Bicet, also 20 years old and a resident of the Abel Santamaría neighborhood. He was missing for several hours before his body was eventually found.

A month earlier, in mid-April, two Cuban teenagers, aged 14 and 16, drowned while fishing in a river in a rural community in the municipality of Vertientes in Camagüey. The tragic accident occurred in the small hamlet of Concordia, near the Batalla de las Guásimas sugar mill.
