A man was arrested this Wednesday following a knife-wielding robbery at the Jorge Arturo Vilaboy Secondary School, located in the La Habana Vieja municipality of Havana.

According to details shared by Javier Gutiérrez on Facebook, the intruder entered the school and stole two cell phones from the administrator's office but was caught as he was leaving.

"As he was exiting the office, the administrator saw him stealing and he pulled out a knife to intimidate her before running off at full speed. However, his plan backfired because he didn't expect the woman to be so brave and chase after him, shouting for help," Gutiérrez recounted.

The incident occurred on Lamparilla Street, between Bernaza and Villegas, where two uniformed officers quickly and efficiently intercepted and apprehended the thief between Sol and Egido streets.

The post also mentions that the phones were "recovered and returned to their rightful owner," and the man will now have to "face justice to learn that what isn't his should not be touched, and women should be respected, as he too was born of one."

Recently, it was reported that a man who attempted to steal a cell phone from its owner on a bus in Havana was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The incident occurred on a P12 bus around 4:00 PM, while it was traveling along Boyeros Avenue and Calzada del Cerro.
