Cuban-Americans residing in the United States have funded a billboard in Miami supporting former President and current Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.

The billboard was strategically placed on the Palmetto Expressway, a spot that recently featured a controversial billboard displaying Trump alongside the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. This previous billboard sparked significant debate on social media and within Miami's public sphere.

However, Republican Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar announced on Friday that the contentious billboard would be removed early Saturday morning.

"I have just been informed by the Vice President and General Manager of Lamar Advertising for South Florida that the billboard featuring the image of dictator Fidel Castro will be taken down at midnight," Salazar stated via her account on the social media platform X.

These developments are unfolding amidst a U.S. election campaign that has yet to reach its peak but already promises moments of tension and intrigue leading up to Election Day on Tuesday, November 5.

The creator of the controversial billboard featuring Trump and Castro, Claude Taylor, who leads an anti-Trump Political Action Committee, also announced the arrival of a truck displaying images of both former leaders, as well as Nicolás Maduro and Hugo Chávez. This move has further fueled the debate in the City of Miami.

Taylor revealed that, in addition to the photos, the vehicle will broadcast a video depicting Castro delivering a speech, with Trump’s voice overlaying it, talking about shark attacks and electric boats—an evident mockery of both former leaders.
