A couple tragically lost their lives, and their three children—a nine-year-old boy and 21-year-old twin girls—remain in critical condition following a house fire caused by an electric scooter explosion in La Lisa, Havana, on Wednesday.

The heartbreaking news, which has shaken this Cuban family, was shared on social media by singer Saúl Manuel, who was informed of the incident by a relative of the victims.

"I am a relative of the girl from the electric scooter explosion. Yes, she sadly passed away, and her husband did too. My cousin is in critical condition with third-degree burns all over his body, and the twins are also in critical condition. The boy woke up more critical today; he is 9 years old, and the two girls are also in critical condition. They are 21-year-old twins," read the message sent to the artist.

The fire claimed the lives of Kirenia Cancio Domínguez, aged 43, and her husband, whose name has not yet been disclosed.

The boy, Eleonay Rankin Cancio, remains in critical condition at a hospital, while the twins, Alejandra and Laura, are admitted to the burn unit at Calixto García Hospital, both in life-threatening condition.

"It's very sad and painful; we have no consolation," the relative lamented in his message. "We are waiting for my family to arrive from the U.S. The wake will be after 8, with a closed casket, and only for two hours."
