A social media user recently shared an image of the new 3D manhole in Santa Clara, sparking controversy across online platforms. This latest example of the Cuban communist regime's shoddy workmanship came to light in a Facebook post on the profile "Accidents of Buses and Trucks."

One citizen sarcastically highlighted how this "beautiful 3D manhole" poses a significant road safety hazard, yet the state remains indifferent. "Look at this beauty on a street in Santa Clara. You need a KP3 truck to get through that street. Then, they go around demanding things from drivers," said the user who shared the photo.

The reactions on social media were swift. One person pointed out that this is "another work of the revolution." "It's a beauty, but I can show you ones near my house that are just like it. You can't drive down any street in Cuba anymore," commented another user.

The most famous 3D manhole in Cuba is located in the Pan American Village. Since its appearance on social media in September 2023, this "revolutionary sewer system typology" has earned its own nickname inspired by popular wisdom. Yes, it's called a "3D manhole" because it is not level with the ground as it should be. It has a concrete edge that can be either round like the one in Santa Clara or square like the one in Havana.

This elevation of several centimeters poses a significant danger to drivers, especially those on motorcycles. Colliding with such a barrier can cause loss of vehicle control and lead to accidents.

Criticism on social media has been intense, and the Havana government has attempted to restore the manhole three times. However, each intervention has made the situation worse. This is one of the most popular and blatant cases of the Cuban communist regime's shoddy workmanship.
