Animal protectors in Sancti Spíritus shared recent photos of Yeiko, the dog who was brutally attacked with a machete and left to fend for himself. The images reveal that his wounds have now mostly healed into old scars.

The ARCA Foundation Sancti Spíritus posted two pictures on Facebook showing Yeiko active, healthy, and with his injuries almost invisible. "Our prince is almost healed; soon, they will be just small scars that love will erase, and his heart will heal alongside the family that adores him," the animal rights activists wrote on social media.

Last May, Yeiko underwent surgery that required more than 50 stitches. He arrived at the operating room with severe head injuries, including an exposed eye, which he unfortunately lost, along with a fractured jaw.

The animal rights group celebrated every step of Yeiko's recovery. "It's incredible how much Yeiko has improved; the wound is practically healed, and he behaves so well during his treatments," noted the organization, continuing the story of this dog who was the victim of a violent and cruel act.

"Keep going, Yeiko, you can do it; you're almost at the finish line," ARCA encouraged, sharing images of the dog with his owner, who found him after he was rescued and surgically treated.

Recently, animal rights activists also shared a video of Yeiko looking very lively. They celebrated it as a significant achievement that he barked again, showing his excellent progress.

The post was widely celebrated by followers, who were initially outraged by the violence Yeiko suffered and then followed every step of his recovery.
