A power pole fell on an articulated public transport bus in Havana, fortunately without causing any injuries. The incident occurred in the early hours from Thursday to Friday in the Café Colón area, located in the Diez de Octubre municipality.

Internet user Orialys García shared several photos in the Facebook group "Choferes de Ómnibus por Siempre." The images depict multiple workers removing the pole from the bus. The incident resulted in damages to the right side of the windshield and the front door.

"Can someone explain to me how the pole, falling near the accordion section, shattered the windshield and the front door? Because I don't understand anything. To me, there's something else here; investigate thoroughly," she commented.

This is not the first time a truck or bus has collided with a power pole on Cuban streets. Less than three months ago, the driver of an urban bus, allegedly driving under the influence, crashed into a concrete pole on a busy street in the city of Camagüey.

Independent journalist Jose Luis Tan Estrada reported on Facebook that "a drunk driver crashed this Saturday into a power pole on Avellaneda Street." "According to several neighbors, the man had lost control of the bus, which luckily had no passengers on board." No injuries were reported in this incident.

In January 2022, a streetlight pole fell on the front part of a state-owned Lada car in a Havana street. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any injuries. It occurred around 3:00 pm at Luyanó and Concha.

"The electricity pole was rotten at the base where it was anchored on the sidewalk and it broke," said a witness, who was relieved that it didn't fall on any pedestrians or motorcyclists.
