Cuban authorities initiated the controlled demolition of a hazardous wall in Central Havana this Friday. The Municipal Assembly of People's Power in Plaza de la Revolución reported that the controlled demolition of the wall, which posed a danger on Zapata Street between Infanta and Mazon, commenced in the afternoon.

The process was carried out by the company CNA Bacuranao, during which traffic was temporarily halted. According to the information, a small collapse of a beam occurred a few meters away during the demolition, with no damage to people or buildings.

Several structures have collapsed in Havana this month due to heavy rains. Early in June, part of a building in Old Havana, located at Esperanza No. 417 between Carmen and Figuras streets, collapsed after years of being at risk.

The Institute of Meteorology has warned that the rains will continue in the coming days, prompting the regime to take immediate action on critical buildings that are in danger of collapsing.
