A 19-year-old Cuban is desperately pleading for a humanitarian visa to receive medical treatment abroad after spending two years bedridden and living in inhumane conditions. Yordanis Nieves Méndez finds himself in this dire situation due to a medical error during a surgery he underwent in Cuba following an accident.

The botched procedure left him immobile, with a gastric tube and extreme thinness. The lack of proper treatment to restore his health is compounded by the severe food shortages and poverty at his home. "I'm asking the world for help. Please don't let me die here, a 19-year-old boy, don't leave me in this prison," he pleaded.

"I have no freedom, please set me free. I'm begging you, be humane and help me, I'm asking and pleading not on my knees, because I can't move them, but still...," he added.

Yordanis mentioned that he had uploaded a video online a few days ago, but it was taken down. His testimony is now being shared on Instagram by journalist Javier Díaz of Univision 23, in a video that reveals the precarious conditions in which he lives.

The young man recounted that his family's economic situation is so dire that he has even eaten rotten beans or rice with chicken bouillon cubes. "This case is incredible, but even more incredible is the determination of this teenager fighting for his life and asking for freedom!" expressed Javier Díaz.

"I need help, please don't let me die here, I'm begging you. Get me out of this prison, this jail," the young man reiterated.
