A Cuban resident of Lexington, Nebraska, has died after being run over by his girlfriend during an argument early Sunday morning.

Yuniesky Díaz Gómez, 38, originally from Herradura, Pinar del Río, succumbed to injuries inflicted by his partner, Vilma Almanza Siles, 42, a native of Nicaragua. According to reports from the Lexington Police Department, Almanza struck Díaz with a moving vehicle during their heated dispute.

The incident took place around 4:30 a.m. last Sunday. Witnesses indicated that Díaz and Almanza began arguing upon arriving at their residence. As Almanza attempted to leave, Díaz stood in front of the car to prevent her from driving away and was subsequently run over by his girlfriend.

Lexington Fire and Rescue officials promptly provided emergency aid and transported Díaz to the city's Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, Díaz later passed away at the medical center.
