A man has been arrested for allegedly vandalizing a total of 16 cars with black paint in a neighborhood in western Hialeah. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Yuniesky Mayor, was caught on security cameras walking through the parking areas of a residential complex and painting one of the vehicles.

In the video, he was seen shirtless, wearing shorts, and holding a can of spray paint in one hand, according to Telemundo 51, which cited the arrest report as its source. Mayor, whose nationality has not been disclosed, is a resident of the same complex as the victims, which allowed him to hide quickly if any witnesses appeared.

"Both doors and the windshield of my car were painted. I went out in the morning to walk my dog and found this unpleasant surprise," said a neighbor referring to Wednesday morning when the cars were found painted. "My car had what looked like a fish or something strange painted on the driver's door. Fortunately, I was able to clean it; otherwise, it would have been costly," detailed another victim.

During his court appearance, the suspect claimed he was walking in the area because he lives there but denied painting the cars. The detective in charge of the case revealed that Mayor had already been involved in a similar incident last November. On that occasion, he used wall paint and even painted a police patrol car in the same neighborhood.

Yuniesky Mayor remains detained at TGK Jail, although he could be released at any moment upon paying the bail set by the judge. The prosecution has requested that he be placed under house arrest due to the recurrence of his vandalism and the disturbance it causes in the community.

The suspect could face fines ranging from $500 to $5,000, in addition to a possible jail sentence or a period of probation, which will be determined based on the extent of the damage caused. Local police have urged anyone with additional information about the incident to contact authorities to assist in the investigation.
