Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugás has come to the defense of former U.S. President Donald Trump following the court's verdict that found him guilty of 34 crimes. Ugás shared a post on his Facebook profile asserting that the legal process against Trump was politically motivated and that the outcome is reshaping U.S. history.

"This is absurd; these are minor offenses turned into felonies. The prosecutor campaigned on a promise to imprison Trump. Now everyone is waiting for July 11 to see if Judge Merchant will have the courage to send him to prison. Anyway, this will lead to an appeal, and all of this will happen after the elections," Ugás stated.

"Donald Trump will easily win the elections in November. They have turned him into a victim because most people think this process has been politically motivated," he emphasized.

In Ugás' opinion, Trump is just a married man protecting his family from a mistake. "We have a country so divided that it is alarming. The United States is a model for the world, and with these actions, enemies are celebrating," he concluded.

Other Cubans have also shown their support for Trump following his recent judicial setback.

Reggaeton artist Osmani García declared that what happened to the former Republican president is evidence of the current lack of freedom in the United States. "I speak as an American citizen. This year, my vote will be—for better or worse—for Donald Trump," he expressed.

The "El Taxi" singer mentioned that if Trump goes to prison, American citizens would be allowing themselves to become slaves, like Cubans in Cuba. "We already know where this is heading, the defamations, the mechanisms being used against Donald Trump to discredit him are the same ones used in Cuba for over 60 years. We know all these tactics, the games, the shows, the theater, with the only person who can make America great again," he elaborated.
